The Stevenage Half Marathon began in 1984 and takes place annually with a full marathon every 10 years (the next Stevenage marathon is due 2034).
Race headquarters is at Hampson Park Community Centre with the Half Marathon route itself comprising of two loops taking in The Lamex stadium home of Stevenage FC, Fairlands Valley Park and some of the town centre before returning to the start finish area for your second lap.
The route is completely road or cycle path based, so there are no muddy sections to worry about and is completely signposted and marshalled so you can be sure of a warm welcome and encouragement all the way around the 13.1 mile course.
Although designed as a charity fundraising event, the course is officially measured Marathon / Half Marathon and is hosting the Hertfordshire Road Running Half Marathon senior championships, which you can enter if you were born in Hertfordshire or resident for the previous nine months.
We are licenced by England Athletics and results will appear on Power of 10.
The event is a charity fundraiser, with volunteers from Fairlands Valley Spartans Running Club, and Stevenage Scouts giving their time freely to make the event a huge success. All proceeds go to local charities, our last three events have provided in excess of £31,000 in donations to worthy causes and we hope future Stevenage Half Marathons are just as successful.
Each Year we nominate a charity to support and the chosen charity for 2025 is the Willow Foundation.
